Growing Supply Drives down Scrap Battery Prices in China

Scrap battery prices were dragged down by a growth in supply, Shanghai Metals Market pointed out.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 26 (SMM) – Scrap battery prices were dragged down by a growth in supply, Shanghai Metals Market pointed out.

Most secondary lead smelters halt operation currently due to stricter environmental protection inspections, leading to supply growth in scrap batteries.

As of last Friday, higher prices, like 7,550 yuan per tonne and 7,100 yuan per tonne for scrap motive batteries and scrap automobile batteries (white shell) respectively,were already hard to see, 

Scrap battery prices were mainly at 6,900-7,550 yuan per tonne this week, versus 7,400-7,550 yuan per tonne for scrap motive batteries and 6,900-7,100 yuan per tonne for scrap automobile batteries (white shell).
