China, India, Japan Crude Steel production decline in September

Chinese crude steel production for September was 66.1 million tons (Mt), down by 3% compared to September last year.

SHANGHAI (Scrap Register): Chinese crude steel production for September was 66.1 million tons (Mt), down by 3% compared to September last year, as per the latest figures from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

According to worldsteel, Japan produced 8.6 Mt of crude steel in September 2015, a decrease of 7.3% compared to September 2014. 

Global crude steel production was 131 Mt in September 2015, a 3.7% decrease compared to September 2014. 

India’s crude steel production was 7.3 Mt in September, down by 1.4% on the same month last year.

In the first nine months of 2015, Asia produced 828.9 Mt of crude steel, a decrease of 2.0% over the first three quarters of 2014.
