Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange plummets to below 750 points mark

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities plummeted to below 750 points on Monday due to lower capesize, supramax and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities plummeted to below 750 points on Monday due to lower capesize, supramax and panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 7 points to 747 points on Monday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
