SMM Zinc Market Morning Review (2015-10-20)

SHANGHAI, Oct. 20 (SMM) – LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,802/mt on Monday, then touched as high as USD 1,809/mt, but fell back to USD 1,775.5/mt, and closed at USD 1,789.5/mt, down USD 14/mt or 0.78%. Trading volumes were up 1,805 to 8,136 lots, and total positions decreased 4136 to 292,000.

SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 14,230/mt Monday evening, and closed at RMB 14,270/mt, down RMB 95/mt. Trading volumes were 137,000 lots, and total positions grew 2,056 to 166,000.

LME zinc prices are expected to move between USD 1,780-1,810/mt today. SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices will hover between RMB 14,200-14,350/mt, with spot prices RMB 70-130/mt above SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices.
