The operating rate at Chinese secondary lead smelters is expected to stay low in October, SMM predicts.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (SMM) – The operating rate at Chinese secondary lead smelters is expected to stay low in October, SMM predicts.

Raw material shortage is cited as the main reason for the expected fall in secondary lead production in October. Moreover, lead smelters continue to suffer losses, resulting from the VAT rebate cut. This will help to curb smelters’ producing interest.
