Chinese aluminum smelters reported lower cash costs in September. Will the trend continue into October?

SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (SMM) –Chinese aluminum smelters reported lower cash costs in September. Will the trend continue into October?

The answer is yes, SMM’s aluminum research team predicts. The potential decline will be marginal, though. 

The average cash cost for aluminum smelters in SMM’s survey sample slid 1.52% month-on-month in September. Power cost slipped 0.67%, and alumina cost decreased 1.38%. Prebaked anode cost declined 5.03%.
