SHANGHAI, Oct. 16 (SMM) – Chinese motive battery producers frequently decrease production in October due to weak consumption in end-user market, SMM notes.
One motive battery producer will cut operation rate by 50%, two makers will slash 30%, five makers will decrease 10-20% and two makers will leave production unchanged, SMM survey finds.
Motive battery replacement slows in October and November with temperature getting cold, weighing down demand. Consequently, battery makers will cut production to avoid pile-up in inventories.
Price wars started by leading battery makers, force less-known battery producers to cut production to avoid further losses. 48v12Ah battery prices quoted 270-300 yuan in September, but slip to 250-270 yuan at present, SMM learns.
