China Lead Concentrate TCs Expected to Rise Further

TCs for Chinese 50% lead concentrate are expected to grow further in near future on the back of amply inventories at smelters and price edge of imported concentrate, Shanghai Metals Market reckons.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 16 (SMM) – TCs for Chinese 50% lead concentrate are expected to grow further in near future on the back of amply inventories at smelters and price edge of imported concentrate, Shanghai Metals Market reckons.

Lead smelters further stepped up TCs for domestic concentrate heading into October. Some smelters reportedly halt purchase for domestic concentrate and favor imported concentrate. Meanwhile, mounting stocks pile more pressures on mines because of poor sales. Those factors will boost TCs for domestic materials.

Domestic 50% concentrate TCs are largely offered at 2,200-2,700 yuan per tonne (Pb content) this week. Mainstream TCs for imported materials (Pb 60%, Ag < 1,000 g) edge down to $ 165-180/dmt.
