ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) plummeted further by $10 a ton week-on-week to $182 a ton in the week ended October 09, as per the latest figures from the Steel Index.

Accoeding to TSI, daily benchmark index for deep-sea Turkish imports of HMS #1&2 80:20 fellfrom last Friday to end the week at $182 a ton CFR Iskenderun port.

A handful of cargoes were heard booked this week between $180-187 a ton. The large spread appeared to be partly linked to origin, with Baltic cargoes commanding a premium over the level US cargoes were sold at.

This came as a surprise, with reports of large stockpiles at US export docks. Nevertheless, it now appears as though the market has already moved on, with participants reporting next sales are likely to be sub $180 a ton region.
