A total of three enterprises recycle scrap lead-acid batteries in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, according to Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 (SMM) – A total of three enterprises recycle scrap lead-acid batteries in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, according to Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau.

They are Senlan Environmental Protection (Shanghai) Co., Shanghai Jinqiao Renewable Resources Marketing Management Co. and Shanghai Xin Jinqiao Environmental Protection Co.

The e-bike penetration in China has reached 160 million at present and annual production of scrap lead-acid batteries exceeds 2.6 million tonnes. More than 90% materials of lead-acid batteries are recyclable. Should scrap batteries be not treated reasonably, great harm will be done to soil and underground water.
