Global aluminum market will swing from this year’s surplus into a 300,000 tonne deficit next year, Oleg Mukhamedshin, Rusal’s Deputy CEO, said in an interview with Finet, cnmn.com reported.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 10 (SMM) – Global aluminum market will swing from this year’s surplus into a 300,000 tonne deficit next year, Oleg Mukhamedshin, Rusal’s Deputy CEO, said in an interview with Finet, cnmn.com reported.

Chinese aluminum smelters will cut output further against losses and China’s aluminum semis exports will fall considerably, which will leave global market into deficit, Oleg Mukhamedshin was quoted as saying.

Global aluminum demand will grow just 6% in 2015, due to weaker-than-expected demand in Russia, Brazil and Asia, as well as consumption slowdown in China, Oleg Mukhamedshin added.
