Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 import prices decline further to $203 a ton

Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) declined further by $8 a ton week-on-week to $203 a ton in the week ended September 18.

ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) declined further by $8 a ton week-on-week to $203 a ton in the week ended September 18, as per the latest figures from the Steel Index. 

According to TSI, daily benchmark index for deep-sea Turkish imports of HMS #1&2 80:20 fell $2 a ton from last Friday to end the week at $203 a ton CFR Iskenderun port.

The market appeared to take a breather from the multiple sales seen in recent weeks, with completed cargoes far and few between.

Participants still feel the market will move below $200 a ton in time, given the differentials between billet, rebar and scrap.
