China Alumina Imports Fall in August on Yuan Depreciation

China’s alumina imports fell in August, due mainly to yuan’s sharp depreciation, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 28 (SMM) – China’s alumina imports fell in August, due mainly to yuan’s sharp depreciation, SMM understands. 

Inbound shipments were 405,800 tonnes in August, up 15.80% year-on-year, but down 25.57% from July, customs data showed.
