SHANGHAI, Sept. 25 (SMM) - TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) are stable at 5,300-5,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content) in October, according to SMM data September 25. TCs of imported zinc concentrate fall $5 to $190-205 per dry metric tonne (DMT).
Domestic mines and traders were unwilling to sell as zinc prices plunged early this week. Some mines were forced to shut down, SMM says. Some smelters slowed purchases for ore against bearishness.
Domestic zinc concentrate TCs (50%) are stable at 5,300-5,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content) this past week, with some quotes around 5,200 yuan. TCs of imported zinc concentrate (50%) fell slightly to $190-205 per dry metric tonne (DMT), with some deals done at $200. Overseas mines were reluctant to move goods on low LME zinc prices. Some domestic cargo holders also lowered TCs of imported zinc concentrate.
Profit from imported zinc concentrate remained at 940 yuan per tonne (zinc content) above domestic ore, SMM calculates.
