The Aluminum Association has released the 2014 Statistical Review Report. According to the report, aluminum demand continued to grow during the year.

FALLS CHURCH (Scrap Monster): The Aluminum Association has released the latest Statistical Review Report. The report for the year 2014 analyzes aluminum supply and demand and focuses on other market factors that played prominent role during the year. It also provides detailed information on primary markets, finished goods and scrap aluminum recovery.

According to the report, aluminum continued to report strong demand growth during 2014. Many key market reported positive market trends. The aluminum demand in the US and Canada increased sizably by 3.6% over the previous year to 25.5 billion pounds during the year.

The overall US imports of aluminum and aluminum products totaled 11.7 billion pounds in 2014, 3.6% higher when compared with the previous year. The imports from China surged higher by 38% during the year. Preliminary data for 2015 indicates that the aluminum trade between the US and China has strengthened further. The transportation sector demand recorded a growth of 11.1% to 8.4 billion pounds. The construction sector demand totaled 3.1 billion pounds during 2014, increasing considerably by 6.7%. The shipments of aluminum semi-fabricated or mill products totaled 17.6 billion pounds, rising sharply by 4.2% year-on-year.

The report is classified into five sections- supply, shipments, markets, foreign trade, and world statistics. It incorporates various charts, tables and graphs that provide historical statistics about the global aluminum industry in 2014.
