Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange shoots up from recent lows

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities shot up from recent lows on Thursday lifted by strong capesize and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main  sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities  shot up from recent lows on Thursday lifted by strong capesize and panamax  rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of  capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 69  points to 883 points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic  Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
