SHANGHAI, Sept. 18 (SMM) –Vertically integrated bauxite-aluminum-processing industry is developing in full swing in Binzhou City, Shandong Province, China’s major aluminum producing region, local media reported.
Annual primary aluminum capacity in the city has soared from 33,000 tonnes over a decade ago to current 6.36 million tonnes. The city has an annual aluminum processing capacity of 4.2 million tones, the media said.
Local smelters enjoy lower costs than most other counterparts in the country, allowing local aluminum industry to boom, the media added.
