Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continues to drop to 802 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to drop to 802 points on Tuesday mainly due to weak capesize, panamax and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to drop to 802 points on Tuesday mainly due to weak capesize, panamax and supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 3 points to 802 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
