Inner Mongolia Smelters Hike Zinc Concentrate TCs

SHANGHAI, Sept. 11 (SMM) - Some smelters in Inner Mongolia raised TCs of domestic zinc concentrate further due to healthy supplies there, SMM reports.

Dongshengmiao Mining and Zijin Mining’s mines in Inner Mongolia's Urat Rear Banner completed their build-out, said an SMM zinc analyst, with local TCs of domestic zinc concentrate above 5,500 yuan per tonne (zinc content).

A few smelters in Shaanxi, however, lowered TCs slightly, with the lowest at 5,150 yuan per tonne (zinc content). Domestic zinc concentrate TCs held largely stable in other regions.

Domestic zinc concentrate TCs will stay stable in the near term, SMM adds.

TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) stabilized at 5,300-5,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content) this past week, with some quotes at 5,200 yuan, according to SMM data.

TCs of imported zinc concentrate (50%) were $200-210 per dry metric tonne (DMT). Profit from imported zinc concentrate was 750 yuan per tonne (zinc content) above domestic zinc concentrate, with trading in South China active.
