NEW YORK (Scrap Register): Registration is now open for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries’ (ISRI) 2015 Operations Forum, to be held September 30- October 3, at the JW Marriott in Houston, Texas.
The forum is a must attend event for those responsible for the safe and efficient operation of scrap recycling facilities. ISRI just announced it has lowered the cost of registration from $795 (Member)/$1,095 (Nonmember) to $425 (Member)/$725 (Nonmember) from now until September 30.
“Under difficult market conditions, it is even more important to make sure you are operating your facility in an efficient and effective manner,” said Chuck Carr, ISRI’s vice president of member services. “That is why this year’s Operations Forum is providing one of the strongest programs in a decade with workshops focused on improving efficiencies, cost-saving maintenance, and safe operations at a reduced cost.”
The Operations Forum serves as a mini-convention with programming to help recyclers design, maintain, and operate more efficient facilities. Attendees of the Operations Forum can arrange an educational itinerary that best meets their needs. This year’s sessions are based on two tracks:
--Shredder Operations—For employees working directly with shredders and for those seeking a better understanding of materials flow in the yard;
--Yard Design and Management—For managers and supervisors involved in operations and personnel.
Registrants may attend any of the sessions. In order to receive a Certificate of Completion in a single track, participants must attend all workshop classes in their selected track and General Sessions on Thursday and Friday, and participate in the Saturday problem-solving workshops.
Participants who choose programs from different tracks may earn a General Operations Certificate provided they attend sessions in all available time segments and attend the general sessions.
