SHANGHAI, Sept. 8 (SMM) – One npi producer in Inner Mongolia resumed production on Sept. 5 after Beijing’s parade, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

The company told SMM that it would suspend production again after using up their nickel ore inventories. Current ore inventories are around 20 days of consumption, SMM survey finds.

In Linyi, Shandong Province, local blast furnace NPI producers haven’t received any notice of resumption time, but there is a good chance that the resumption will happen in late September.

On Sept. 8, no trading was heard. According to SMM data, ex-works prices of high-grade NPI (Ni 10-15%) were unchanged at 745-770 yuan per mtu, and 800-805 yuan per mtu for Ni 4-6% NPI, down 2.5 yuan per mtu. Prices of low-grade NPI little changed at 1,830-1,870 yuan per tonne.
