LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,809/mt last Friday, then fell to USD 1,777.5/mt with investors leaving the market, and closed at USD 1,787/mt, down USD 24/mt or 1.33%.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 7 (SMM) –LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,809/mt last Friday, then fell to USD 1,777.5/mt with investors leaving the market, and closed at USD 1,787/mt, down USD 24/mt or 1.33%. Trading volumes decreased 2,062 to 5,090 lots, and total positions decreased 1,682 to over 289,000.

The SHFE market was closed last Friday.

US markets are closed today due to the Labor Day holiday. Investors should remain cautious upon the reopening of markets.

LME zinc prices are expected to move between USD 1,770-1,800/mt today. SHFE 1511 zinc contract prices will hover between RMB 14,650-14,750/mt today, with spot zinc above SHFE 1510 zinc contract prices.
