Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continues to stay below 1000 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 1000 points on Monday mainly due to weak capesize and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 1000 points on Monday mainly due to weak capesize and panamax rates.


The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 26 points to 968 points on Monday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
