Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops to below 1000 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further to below 1000 points on Friday lead by weak panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at  Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further to below  1000 points on Friday lead by weak panamax rates.


The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize,  panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 20  points to 994 points on Friday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic  Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
