The crude steel production by EU-28 countries inched higher marginally during the month of July '15. The region's output during the month totaled 13.896 Million tonnes.
CANTERBURY (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World steel), the crude steel production by EU-28 countries were up marginally by 0.3% during the month of July year-on-year. The output by the region totaled 13.896 Million tonnes during the month.
Germany recorded the highest output during the month of July. The country produced 3.615 Million tonnes during the month, which is higher by 4.7% when compared with the country’s output of 3.452 Million tonnes during July 2014. On a year-on-year basis, Hungary recorded the biggest jump in production. Hungarian crude steel output surged higher by 83.1% in July ’15 over the previous year.
The lowest output was by Croatia. The total crude steel output by Croatia dropped significantly by 45.6% from 18,000 tonnes in July 2014 to 10,000 tonnes in July this year.
Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, and other EU-28 region recorded increased year-on-year crude steel production. Croatia recorded the biggest decline in crude steel output in July ‘15, falling by 45.6% when compared with the previous year.
