Asian crude steel production drops 3.7% in July

Crude steel output by the Asian region declined 3.7% in July this year.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia dropped by 3.7% during the month of July 2015 year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by China during July was 65.840 Million tonnes, edging lower by 4.6% when compared with the production of 69.014 Mt during July 2014. India produced 7.661 Million tonnes of crude steel, slightly up by 1.2% when compared to 7.567 Million tonnes production achieved during July last year.

Japan reported 4.9% decline in monthly crude steel output during July. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.292 Million tonnes in July 2014 to 8.838 Million tonnes in the same month this year.

South Korean crude steel production climbed higher marginally by 1.7% from 5.959 Million tonnes in July 2014 to 6.060 Million tonnes in July this year.

The Taiwanese July steel output dropped slightly by 2.8% to 1.855 Million tonnes from 1.909 Million tonnes during same month last year.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first seven months in 2015 in comparison with those during same period in 2014.
