SHANGHAI, Aug. 18 (SMM) - Chihong Zn&Ge’s zinc products output was 109,070 tonnes in the first half of 2015, up 24.73% from 87,440 tonnes during the same period last year, according to the company’s mid-year report.

The growth is due mainly to rising zinc prices and commissioning of new capacity by the company, SMM says.

The average SMM #0 zinc price in the first half of 2015 was 16,271.43 yuan per tonne, up 8% from 15,059.24 yuan per tonne during the same period last year. Besides, the company put its 140,000 mt/yr zinc smelting project into trial production in Inner Mongolia’s Hulun Buir.

The company produced 131,690 tonnes of lead and zinc smelting products, including 93,840 tonnes of zinc ingot, 15,230 tonnes of zinc alloy and 22,620 tonnes of lead ingot, 42.05 tonnes of silver, 8.15 kg of gold and 247,630 tonnes of sulfuric acid, in H1.
