28% of galvanizers surveyed are optimistic toward zinc prices, SMM finds.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 17 (SMM) - 28% of galvanizers surveyed are optimistic toward zinc prices, SMM finds. Most of them are large plants. They base their opinion on expected improvement in demand in late Q3 and early Q4.

33% are bearish, up 40% from June. Production restrictions at galvanized tube producers in North China will dampen zinc consumption and in turn weigh down zinc prices.

39% see no big change in zinc prices.
