Manganese Ore Shipment Halted at Tianjin Port After Blast

Industry News 01:28:14PM Aug 13, 2015 Source:SMM

SHANGHAI, Aug. 13 (SMM) – Manganese ore shipment has been suspended across the Port of Tianjin in the wake of a blast overnight, SMM learned from local traders.

It is now uncertain as to when port operations will return to normal.

Prices for imported manganese ore dropped at some of China’s southern ports due to lackluster downstream demand.

Trading was inactive in SiMn alloy market.

EMM was mainly offered at 9,900-10,000 yuan per tonne on August 13. More and more EMM producers have cut or ceased production, but this failed to give a boost to prices.
