[Bauxite Output] Metro Mining Secures Bauxite Off-Take with China Xinfa Group

Metro Mining Limited announced that it has signed a bauxite off-take non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xinfa Group over its Bauxite Hills Project.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 11 (SMM) –Metro Mining Limited announced that it has signed a bauxite off-take non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xinfa Group over its Bauxite Hills Project.

Metro Mining forecasts total annual production of up to 2 million tonnes from its Bauxite Hills Project. Under the MOU, the minimum and maximum annual contract tonnages are 1.0 million tonnes and 1.2 million tonnes, respectively, during the initial five years.

Metro Mining Limited is an Australian exploration & mining company based in Brisbane, Australia. Xinfa Group is among China’s largest integrated aluminum companies.

According to industry reports, the Pipestone XL project in Newfoundland, Canada, is advancing its awaruite (Ni₃Fe) nickel-cobalt deposit to supply the North American defense and energy storage sectors. Awaruite, a naturally occurring, sulfur-free magnetic alloy containing approximately 77% nickel, enables the production of a high-grade ~60% nickel concentrate through simple magnetic separation and flotation.
