Prices for imported manganese ore will under downward pressure at Chinese ports next week, SMM says.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 7 (SMM) – Prices for imported manganese ore will under downward pressure at Chinese ports next week, SMM says.

SiMn alloy producers are in no mood to stockpile goods after steel mills cut SiMn alloy bid prices.

Manganese ore stocks at major Chinese ports were 2.88 million tonnes as of August 7, down slightly from a week ago.   At the Port of Tianjin, Australian manganese ore (lump, Mn46%) was mainly offered at 25 yuan per mtu, versus 21.5 yuan per mtu for South African semis carbonate manganese ore.
