SHANGHAI, Aug. 7 (SMM) - The price gap on #0 zinc between Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong is expected to narrow on growing shipments circulated between the regions, SMM foresees.
Some cargo holders have increased shipments from Guangdong to Shanghai on higher profit less freight charges from widening price gap between the two. Discounts on #0 zinc in Guangdong against Shanghai increased to 160 yuan per tonne recently.
In the meanwhile, some smelters have stepped up shipments from Shanghai to Tianjin since mid and late June due to higher margins from the big price gap between the two regions. But this in turn sent the price spread between Tianjin and Shanghai down from 300 yuan to 200 yuan per tonne.
