Galvanized plate/coil prices in North China, especially in Tianjin, rose slightly as rebar prices rebounded, SMM finds.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 27 (SMM) - Galvanized plate/coil prices in North China, especially in Tianjin, rose slightly as rebar prices rebounded, SMM finds.

Tight supply in Tianjin from environmental protection inspections also bolstered galvanized product prices there, SMM adds.

But demand showed little improvement, with prices in Shanghai on a downward track.

Major automobile manufacturers including Volkswagen (China),GM and Ford China all suspended production. Meanwhile, six US-based steel plants launched anti-dumping investigation against galvanized plate from China, depressing export orders.
