LONDON (Scrap Register): Northern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices declined by €5 a ton week-on-week to €386 per ton in the week ended July 10, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.

According to TSI, North European steel producers continued to book orders for September delivery, but at a slightly lower price level than a week ago.

The price range for concluded HR coil deals has widened since and while some transactions were still done near the €400 a ton mark, the lower end of the range slipped to below €380 a ton.

Material from some Eastern European mills was heard offered around €385 a ton delivered.

In Southern Europe, selling prices remained largely in the €370-375 a ton range amid slower market activity.
