BRUSSELS (Scrap Monster): Major stainless steel producers in Europe have announced changes in stainless steel surcharge for the month of July this year. Those who announced updates to surcharges include major producers such as Outokumpu and Aperam.

As per reports, Outokumpu has reduced its alloy surcharges for 304 grade stainless steel flat-rolled for July by €40/ton from the month ago. After adjustments, the surcharges will average at €1,238/ton for July. The surcharge for the product during June was €1,278/ton.  However, its alloy surcharges for 316 grades will be lowered by €66/ton to €1,755/ton from €1,821/ton. The surcharge for 430 grades will be increased by € 10/ton to €486/ton.

Meantime, Aperam has announced its alloy surcharges for its stainless steel products for the month of July this year. The surcharges for 304 grade stainless steel products will be reduced by €41/ton to €1,193/ton during July ’15. Similarly, the company’s surcharge on 316 grade flat products will be €1,699/ton in July ’15, down by €67/ton from the previous month. The July alloy surcharges for 430 grade stainless steel products will be €466/ton, higher by €7/ton when compared with the previous month.

Also, Acciai Speciali Terni has announced to lower its alloy surcharges for 304 grade flat products by €42/ton. Terrni’s surcharge for July ’15 will be at €1,234/ton. The company has also decided to keep the alloy surcharges for 316 grade flat products at €1,752/ton and those of 430 grades at €487/ton during July ’15.

Other stainless steel makers in the region including Acerinox and ThyssenKrupp are yet to announce the stainless steel surcharge for the month of July this year.
