SHFE Zinc Prices Closed with Losses (Jul. 7, 2015)

SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,205/mt Monday evening, then climbed to RMB 15,240-15,260/mt, and closed at RMB 15,250/mt, down RMB 10/mt or 0.07%.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 7 (SMM) – SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,205/mt Monday evening, then climbed to RMB 15,240-15,260/mt, and closed at RMB 15,250/mt, down RMB 10/mt or 0.07%.

SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices rose after opening on Tuesday, and once touched RMB 15,420/mt. In the afternoon, SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices extended losses , and closed at RMB 15,215/mt, down RMB 45/mt or 0.29%. Trading volumes decreased 14,170 to 137,072 lots, and total positions increased 4,818 to 144,050. SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices will test support from RMB 15,200/mt this evening.

US Q4 GDP Revised Down to 0.7%, PCE Rises 0.3% MoM, Job Openings Increase to 6.95M
The US’s Q4 GDP for last year was revised down to just 0.7%. In January, PCE rose 0.3% MoM, while on a YoY basis it edged down from 2.9% to 2.8%; core PCE inflation increased 0.4% MoM and 3.1% YoY. January job openings increased from 6.55 million in December to 6.95 million, while layoffs declined.
