SHANGHAI, Jul. 1 (SMM) - China Customs showed that China imported 13 mt refined lead in May 2015, versus 77 mt during January-May 2015. Imported refined lead can make profits only when SMM/LME lead price ratio is about 7.8. Thus, even current ratio of 7.5 was still unfavorable for imports. And secondary lead accounted for large number in foreign countries, also depressing China’s importing. China imported lead alloy of 327 mt, lead polar plate of 5 mt and other lead products of 3 mt.

China exported 6,697 mt lead products in May, down 25% MoM, including 4,853 mt refined lead, 1,325 mt lead polar plate, 262 mt lead alloy and 257 mt other lead products. Refined lead and lead polar plate accounted for 98% of the total exports with 71% refined lead exporting to Vietnam and Taiwan.
