Tight spot supply boosted scrap battery prices, Shanghai Metals Market stated.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 23 (SMM) – Tight spot supply boosted scrap battery prices, Shanghai Metals Market stated.

Scrap motive batteries settled at a high of 7,600 yuan per tonne in Shandong, Anhui, Henan and Hebei.

Mainstream trading prices for scrap batteries were 6,850-7,600 yuan per tonne last week with 7,450-7,600 yuan per tonne for scrap motive batteries and 6,850-7,100 yuan per tonne for automobile batteries (white shell).

Anhui Huaxin Lead Industry Group stopped buying scrap motive batteries, and left purchasing price at 6,850 yuan per tonne for automobile batteries (white shell). Henan Jinpeng Lead Industry Co. bought scrap motive batteries at 7,500 yuan per tonne, a reflection of difficulty in sourcing scrap batteries.
