MEXICO CITY (Scrap Register): Mexico's rebar exports fell by 64.7% to 26,943 tons in March from the export of 76,396 tons in the same month last year, Platts reported on Wednesday citing data from the country's Economy Secretariat.

The value of exported rebar declined to $16.68 million FOB in March from $50.57 million FOB March 2014.

The decline in exports is mainly attributed to vanishing negotiations with the US, which imported only 599 tons in March, compared with 19,975 tons in March 2014.

Since April last year, there have been 20.58%-66.7% antidumping margins on Mexican rebar in force imposed by the US Department of Commerce.
