SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – Production at major Chinese zinc oxide producers is expected to fall slightly in June, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.
“Poor orders will negatively affect their production,” SMM zinc group says.
Orders at those producers improved some in May, with average utilization rate up to 61.2%, SMM survey finds.
The July and August period is a traditional unit maintenance cycle for Chinese zinc oxide producers, and they usually build up stocks before the period.
This year, however, is an exception one, as most surveyed producers told SMM that had no building-up plan.
