[Crude Steel]China Crude Steel Production up 1.5% in May

Crude steel production in China was 69.95 million tonnes in May, up 1.5% month-on-month, but down 0.7% year-on-year.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 12 (SMM) – Crude steel production in China was 69.95 million tonnes in May, up 1.5% month-on-month, but down 0.7% year-on-year.

Pig Iron production was 60.96 million tonnes, up 2.5% and 1.3% on a monthly and yearly basis, respectively.

China’s finished steel production was 98.48 million tonnes, up 2.1% month-on-month, and 1.7% year-on-year.
