SHANGHAI, Jun. 9 (SMM) – SMM sees recent EMM price rally not appealing enough to trigger massive production resumptions in China.
Some EMM producers told SMM that they might reopen when prices rise to 10,800-11,200 yuan ($1,760-1,825) per tonne. Others, however, showed no intention of restarting idled capacity in the near term.
EMM prices entered an upward trend in late May, and have risen to 10,600-10,700 yuan per tonne as of June 9, SMM data showed.
