Some electric vehicle battery producers in Hebei cut production and several simply closed recently due mainly to weak demand and reduced number of workers in busy farming season.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 8 (SMM) – Some small electric vehicle battery producers in Hebei province cut production and several simply closed recently due mainly to weak demand and reduced number of workers in busy farming season.

Local producers told SMM that they often begin stockpiling finished battery goods in June in preparation for the July-August peak months. This year, however, the anemic demand for electric vehicle batteries and intense competition left excess battery inventories at producers. Thus, many small battery makers resorted to production cuts or stoppages.
