SHANGHAI, Jun. 8 (SMM) –EMM prices in China rose to RMB 10,500/mt on June 5. However, the price rise was not attractive enough, so many EMM producers showed no intention of reopening. Only a few EMM producers returned to production in early June following facility maintenance in late May. Inquiries from traders picked up. Overseas demand also improved slightly.
Trading activity is expected to improve further this week now that EMM prices have entered an upward track. Operating rates at EMM producers remain low. So, EMM prices are likely to continue rising this week.
