SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices surged briefly to RMB 16,470/mt Thursday evening, then dropped back to RMB 16,300/mt, and closed at RMB 16,320/mt, down RMB 65/mt or 0.4%.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 5 (SMM) –SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices surged briefly to RMB 16,470/mt Thursday evening, then dropped back to RMB 16,300/mt, and closed at RMB 16,320/mt, down RMB 65/mt or 0.4%. Trading volumes increased 15,250 to 63,336 lots, and total positions dropped 1,780 to 131,972.

SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices fluctuated between RMB 16,270-16,290/mt on Friday, and plunged to RMB 16,200/mt at the end of trading, and closed at RMB 16,210/mt, down RMB 175/mt or 1.07%. Trading volumes increased 12,000 to 139,000 lots, and total positions fell 3,586 to 130,000. SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices are expected to remain weak this evening.
