SHANGHAI, Jun. 5 (SMM) - Customs reported that China imported 3 mt of refined lead in April, and the YTD imports through April were 63 mt. The unfavorable SMM/LME lead price ratio continued to curb China’s lead imports. China’s lead alloy imports were 1,293 mt in April, and import volumes of lead plate and other lead products were 5 mt and 6 mt, respectively.
China exported 8,148 mt of lead products in April, up 10.6% MoM, including 6,430 mt of refined lead, 1,448 mt of lead plate, 158 mt of lead alloy and 112 mt of other lead products. Combined numbers of refined lead and lead plate accounted for 97% of the total. 64% of refined lead exports went to Taiwan (China) and Vietnam. China’s net exports of lead products hit 6,841 mt.
