Production suspension at four nickel mines in Zambales, the Philippines is not expected to disrupt market supply, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.

SHANGHAI, May 26 (SMM) – Production suspension at four nickel mines in Zambales, the Philippines is not expected to disrupt market supply, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.

It is a monsoon season from June to November in this region, so the suspension at those mines there is not expected to exert a big impact on market supply, SMM foresees.

Ores from the four mines are about 7-10 ships of high-grade ore, and 2-3 ships of medium-grade every month.

The closures at the four nickel mines, including Benguet, LNL, Eramen and DMCI, are because of environmental protection issues, local media reported.
