SHANGHAI, May 19 (SMM) – Silicon prices in China’s domestic market are likely to stabilize in May, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.
Falling supply will be a supporter to silicon prices, SMM says.
The price of oxygen-free #553 silicon metal dropped at a slower pace since the beginning of May following more closures in Chongqing, Hunan and Yunnan.
Continuous price declines and poor demand are major reasons behind their closures, SMM survey finds.
Utilization rate at major domestic silicon metal producers is expected to fall in May, SMM estimates.
