SHANGHAI, May 18 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories at China’s five major ports dropped 390,000 toones last week to 10.26 million tonnes due to growing consumption from domestic NPI producers, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds.

Inventory declines were particularly evident at the Port of Tianjin and Lianyungang, as near-by NPI producers stepped up production, SMM survey shows.

SMM foresees a growth in China’s NPI production in May from the decline in port inventories.
