SHFE 1507 Nickel Finishes up 1.05% (May 15, 2015)

SHFE 1507 nickel opened lower at RMB 108,980/mt Thursday night and then moved higher to RMB 109,750/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 15 (SMM) – SHFE 1507 nickel opened lower at RMB 108,980/mt Thursday night and then moved higher to RMB 109,750/mt. But the metal later dropped to hover between RMB 108,800-109,250/mt, and finally ended down 0.31% at RMB 109,060 /mt. Trading volumes rose 25,314 to 362,000 lots and positions climbed 5,422 to 127,000.

SHFE 1507 nickel started Friday morning session at RMB 108,990/mt and then fluctuated between RMB 108,900-109,250/mt. The contract surged above RMB 110,000/mt answering to growing LME nickel but fell slightly at the tail of trading to end at RMB 110,210/mt, up 1.05%. Trading volumes decreased 151,000 to 609,000 lots whereas positions were up 9,312 to 131,000.
